Eligible journals: fully OA titles and hybrid titles in the subscription collections of individual institutions. This means that the journal in which you want to publish must be part of a collection to which your institution subscribes. Here you can check, whether the journal in which you want to publish is part of a collection to which your institution subscribes.

Publication types: Original Research Papers, Review Papers, Brief Communications, Short Reports, Case Reports.

Contract duration: 1 January 2023 - 31 December 2025

Procedure for Obtaining a Discount on OA Publishing:

  • Note: We recommend using institutional e-mail addresses when submitting a manuscript.
  • Once your article is accepted for publication, the publisher will send you an e-mail informing you that your article can be published with a special discount. After clicking on Select your publishing route or Visit SAGE´s Open Access portal, you will be greeted with a homepage that displays the metadata of the article and APC, the discount given and the resulting fee for publishing the article.
  • In response to the question Would you like to make your article open access? choose the answer Yes, make my article open access.
  • You will then be prompted to select the corresponding author (Register/Log In), and then select the Creative Common license type (we recommend CC-BY) and specify who owns it (under License selection). You then enter into a Journal Contributor’s Publishing Agreement with the publisher.
  • In the Assign Payer section, select the person who will pay the APC.
  • In the Preview Invoice section, you will be able to check the details:
    • The APC in a hybrid title should be GBP 200.
    • The APC in a fully OA title should have a 20% discount.
  • Click on Send Invoice and the invoice will be sent to your e-mail address and after payment your article will be published in Open Access mode.
