The status of signing amendments to the cancellation or reduction of the increase in EIR prices for the years 2021 and 2022

CzechELib has negotiated with selected EIR providers the annulment or reduction of year-on-year price increases of individual EIRs for the years 2021 and 2022 as a measure to reduce the financial impact of COVID-19.
These negotiations were not easy, but the feedback from many EIR providers was positive. We would like to outline a few financial concessions and other benefits that we have managed to achieve together with EIR providers, or that some providers themselves have offered to members of the individual EIR consortia:

  • Reduction of year-on-year price increases for 2021 and 2022

  • Discount on the purchase of additional backfile collections

  • Discount for switching to a new platform

  • Discount for publishing Open Access
        SAGE (20%), RSC (15%)
  • Possibility of free-of-charge Open Access publishing
        Emerald, Cambridge University Press

Amendments to the contracts on ZZ EIR will be signed with member institutions from mid-January to the end of February 2021.
