Free, unlimited publishing of Open Access articles (hereinafter “OA”) for corresponding authors from institutions that are members of the CzechELib consortium:

- Czech Technical University in Prague
- Institute of Physics of the CAS
- Institute of Plasma Physics of the CAS
- Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS
- Institute of Thermomechanics of the CAS
- J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the CAS
- Nuclear Physics Institute of the CAS
- Palacky University Olomouc
- The Extreme Light Infrastructure ERIC (only facility Dolní Břežany, CZ)
- Tomas Bata University in Zlín
- University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague
- University of Pardubice
- University of West Bohemia
Eligible journals: fully OA titles and hybrid titles, with some exceptions: List of ineligible titles
Publication types: paper, special issue paper, review and/or letter (the aim of the list is to cover all “original research and review type content”)
Contract duration: 1. 1. 2026 - 31. 12. 2030
How does an author publish an Open Access article?
When a corresponding author submits an article to an IOP journal, they are asked to indicate their institutional affiliation. If the author is affiliated with a listed member institution, IOP will identify the article as eligible for Open Access publication at no costs and will send an email to the corresponding author.
Close to the time of article acceptance, corresponding authors will confirm their wish to publish Open Access.
Opt-out: Within five days, authors can opt for an exception and publish their article traditionally (paid access, behind a paywall).
Articles published in Open Access will be licensed under CC BY license.
